The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for the deployment, administration and ongoing support of Hyve's managed hosting and private-cloud infrastructure for its Australian customers. The role ensures the availability, performance, security and integrity of business-critical server, virtualisation, network and storage platforms, and provides expert technical support as Hyve establishes and grows its Australian operations. <h3>Benefits</h3>You'll work closely with customers and collaborate with experienced engineers across Australia and the UK, sharing knowledge and helping deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for our global customer base. If you enjoy solving problems, taking ownership, and continuously developing your technical skills, we'd love to hear from you. <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3>•&nbsp; Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux and Windows server operating systems across managed hosting and private-cloud environments.•&nbsp; Administering and maintaining virtualisation and container platforms, including VMware and OpenShift, to ensure availability and performance.•&nbsp; Deploying, managing and maintaining physical and virtual server infrastructure for enterprise customer environments.•&nbsp; Monitoring system and platform performance, capacity and integrity, and proactively resolving faults to meet agreed service levels.•&nbsp; Administering web, application and database platforms, including IIS, Apache, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.•&nbsp; Configuring and maintaining Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and related identity and messaging services.•&nbsp; Configuring and maintaining load balancers, firewalls and web application security technologies to protect customer environments.•&nbsp; Diagnosing and resolving network and connectivity issues, including TCP/IP, DNS and routing.•&nbsp; Administering enterprise storage and compute resources, and managing backups, patching and system hardening.•&nbsp; Performing root-cause analysis on incidents, documenting resolutions and contributing to post-incident reviews.•&nbsp; Maintaining system documentation, knowledge-base articles and operational procedures.•&nbsp; Participating in an on-call, out-of-hours support roster to maintain platform availability. <h3>Qualification & experience</h3>•&nbsp; A relevant tertiary qualification in information technology or computer science, or equivalent demonstrated experience.•&nbsp; At least five years' experience administering Linux and Windows server environments in production.•&nbsp; Demonstrated experience with virtualisation (VMware, OpenShift/Kubernetes), enterprise networking, storage and security technologies.•&nbsp; Strong troubleshooting, incident-management and customer-service skills.•&nbsp; Willingness to participate in an on-call / out-of-hours support roster.
