Prepare accurate cost estimates and project pricing for residential and commercial flooring projects, including reviewing plans, conducting measurements, calculating material and labour costs, and obtaining supplier quotations. <h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive salary of $80,000–$90,000 + superannuation</li><li>Full-time permanent position</li><li>Work on diverse residential and commercial flooring projects</li><li>Supportive and established team environment</li><li>Professional development and career progression opportunities</li></ul> <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Analyse and interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, specifications and other project documentation.</li><li>Prepare digital take-offs, area calculations and material schedules using MeasureSquare estimating software.</li><li>Review project requirements and determine the scope of flooring works.</li><li>Conduct site inspections and measurements to assess floor areas, site conditions, and installation requirements.</li><li>Calculate quantities of flooring materials, labour requirements, installation resources and project timeframes.</li><li>Prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans for residential and commercial flooring projects.</li><li>Obtain, analyze and compare quotations from suppliers, installers and subcontractors.</li><li>Prepare and deliver cost estimates, cost plans and, where applicable, tender pricing through to the tender settlement stage.</li><li>Liaise with clients, builders, project managers, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams regarding project scope, specifications and pricing.</li><li>Review and revise estimates in response to changes in project scope, drawings, specifications, product selections or supplier pricing.</li><li>Maintain current supplier pricing, cost information and estimating databases.</li><li>Prepare cost information to assist with project planning, scheduling and resource allocation.</li><li>Monitor estimated costs against actual material, labour and installation costs and identify significant variances.</li><li>Provide estimates, quantities, pricing assumptions and relevant project information to the operations team following project award.</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Diploma-levelor higher qualification in construction, building, estimating, quantity surveying or a related discipline.&nbsp;</li><li>At least 1 year of relevant experience in construction estimating, preferably within flooring, building or a related construction environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in MeasureSquare (or equivalent flooring take-off and estimating software) and Microsoft Excel.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience calculating material quantities, labour requirements and project costs.</li><li>Experience obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li><li>High level of accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Strong communication and negotiation skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects, estimates and deadlines.</li></ul>
