The External Auditor will undertake external audit and assurance engagements for a range of clients, including legal practices, real estate agencies and other organisations. The role includes a strong focus on regulated trust account audits together with broader audit and compliance work.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Plan, manage and conduct external audit and assurance engagements from commencement through to completion.</li><li>Examine financial records, transactions, accounting records and supporting documentation to assess accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.</li><li>Review accounting processes, financial controls and record-keeping procedures as part of audit engagements.</li><li>Perform audit testing, compliance testing, substantive procedures and analytical reviews, and investigate discrepancies identified during the audit.</li><li>Conduct trust account audits for legal practices, real estate agencies and other regulated entities.</li><li>Review trust account reconciliations, ledgers, transactions and supporting records and follow up identified discrepancies.</li><li>Prepare audit workpapers and reports setting out audit procedures, findings and conclusions, including statutory and management reports where required.</li><li>Identify financial, audit and compliance issues and provide practical recommendations arising from audit findings.</li><li>Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve audit queries and discuss findings and required actions.</li><li>Maintain complete audit documentation and ensure engagements are completed within agreed timeframes.</li></ul>Skills and ExperienceApplicants should have:<ul><li>A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a closely related field.</li><li>Relevant professional experience in external audit, assurance or financial audit work.</li><li>Experience undertaking audit testing and preparing audit workpapers and reports.</li><li>Sound knowledge of accounting principles, audit procedures and compliance requirements.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or audit software.</li></ul>Experience conducting audits of solicitor, real estate or other regulated trust accounts will be highly regarded.Experience with Xero, MYOB, CaseWare or similar software will also be highly regarded.What We Offer<ul><li>Salary of $80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience.</li><li>Ongoing training and professional development.</li><li>Supportive and collaborative team environment.</li><li>Long-term career development within a growing specialist audit practice.</li></ul>How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant external audit experience and suitability for the role.Allen Audit &amp; Advisory is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates.
